Despite the lockdown we have been able to reach out to at least 50 of our 56 enrolees.
41 of these children, most of them implantees are receiving daily sessions with their class teachers, that include auditon , language and speech . they are also receiving weekly therapy sessions.
Most of this work is being carried out online. Wherever parents have faced network issues its being conducted over the phone.
Situations at home and involvement of family members , most importantly fathers and siblings are the basis of these sessions.
Our audiologist is available to teachers, therapists and parents to solve issues of listening , speech and maintaining devices. She has been able to resolve issues of accessory replacements too.
The audiologist has along with our teachers and therapists worked with each child to assess and manage their speech issues.
Our family counsellor is reaching out fortnightly to each and every parent to help them cope with the stress of the current scenario.
Our program partners like CSMVS and Sound Space have contributed content in language and music to the parents.
For children whose families are economically deprived, the committee members have individually reached out with financial aid.
The teachers and therapists are also making use of this time to upgrade their knowledge by attending webinars.
Regular meetings are being held , with parents, with teachers and with the committee members.
